I like short posts

This will not be an intellectually stimulating post. It will not be witty or funny either. It's just a brief update. I'm back in Tejas. I turned 26 last Saturday. I got a new PC for my birthday, and so I apologize to the Mac users of the world. I'm trying to redeem myself by getting a job at Apple. I think I've almost got it, but everyone please wish me luck anyway. That is all.

leaving on a jet plane

On Wednesday, in the wee hours of the morning, I'll be climbing aboard an American Airlines flight bound for...Dallas. But then I'm catching another one to Richmond, VA, and I'll be riding with my folks to their place. I'm staying in Virginia for about a week, I'll be back on the 21st. No, I won't be on AIM, or ICQ, or Y!M, but I will be checking my email and also logging into isca bbs in the late evenings. Anyway, school ends for the summer tomorrow, and I'm still looking at working full-time in the fall. I submitted a resume to a place I really would like to work for, so keep your fingers crossed for me. All apologies for this boring entry. While I've been busy lately, I haven't been busy doing anything interesting.
addendum

Okay, it's not true that I haven't done anything interesting or fun lately. Erica's going away party was on Saturday, and while I technically hosted, what that meant was that I sent out the evites and brought over some pillows to sit on and some beer. Erica cooked about a million dishes to use up her leftover foodstuffs, including cheese and chocolate fondues (separately, of course), pumpkin soup in vegetarian and non-vegetarian incarnations, lentil soup, hummus, something with chicken that was apparently good, spinach stuff (a modification of a recipe i found, and she messed with it and neither of us is satisfied yet), finger sandwiches made with fluff and peanut butter and marmalade (not all together). Hrm...I know there was other stuff. Anyway, as usual, there was alcohol consumed, and we all hung out and talked.

Also, one of her neighbors decided it would be a good idea to help the maintenance guys keep the pool clean, so she'd been adding extra chlorine tablets to the baskets. Well, she accidentally knocked her bucket full of tablets into the pool, and it only got a little wet and then floated. Apparently this leads to explosions, we're still working on the exact reasoning. So there were loud firecracker noises for a while, and a nasty chlorine gas stench in the air.
