I pick him up at his apartment. Based solely on his looks, I'm not physically unattracted to him. He has a certain magnetism. A blondness. He's 34. He runs the family business. Pipes. Fittings. Drains. Did I say pipes? I don't know. Something useful is manufactured under his direction.
It's dinnertime. Sushi. Sake. Another sake. We start talking about dating. Previous relationships and such. He says that the last woman he dated is getting married and he doesn't think she's making the right decision. She's not marrying the right guy. I'm like, well, you can't tell her who to marry if she wants to get married and you're not willing to marry her. And he's like, oh, I told her I'd marry her. I'm like, when? He's like, last week.
And when's she getting married? Next week. Oh my. Did she say no? (Like I should have when he asked me to dinner?) She hasn't told him either way yet. I mean, what's the rush? She has a week.I spent the evening with a Republican (did I mention that?) who has an outstanding marriage proposal. I said that based on his looks, I wasn't physically unattracted to him. This is true. But based on his personality, I'm intellectually revolted.
