Anita Liberty on Anita Liberty

I was censored by a large and well-known cable television station and it has become one of the defining moments of my life. I'll admit that at first I was a bit depressed. I wanted to be on television. I wanted to humiliate Mitchell on television. But then I realized that the Standards and Practices department had done me a favor. Overnight I had become a
censored artist.
How hip! I thought: I'll be the envy of every artist. I'd finally arrived. I'd passed the test. I had status. I was in. A woman named Liberty had been censored.
It couldn't have been more poetic, if I had written the story myself.
