Letters to Liberty

An older man:

Hi Anita,

Saw your site and was most interested. Have a question for you. What are the four most helpful words which an older person can say to a younger person? (In my case, "older" is 74.) To answer the question, how about "I believe in you." What's your answer?

J.

Dear J.,

"I believe in you" is good, but, "Here's money--a lot," is better.

Thanks for your support (emotional, that is),
Anita Liberty

A younger man:

Hi!

I am a boy and why are you hating so much? Love can be hard, so why make it harder with hate? But I know that some people don't know what love is. Tell me what you want with this side.

From E.

Dear E.,

That's the problem. There shouldn't be "sides" at all. We're all human. We all love and get hurt and hate, and some of us publicly humiliate those who hurt us. It's just life. But thanks for your concern.

Sincerely,
Anita Liberty

Just a man:

Dear Anita,

Sorry about your broken heart, but I'm sure you have now learned that a man will break your heart anytime you leave it out where he can get at it. Moving in with any man is a bad idea...sometimes even when you're married to one. I should know. I am one.

J.

Dear J.,

Okay, now that we're all on the same page...WHAT'S YOUR POINT?

Sincerely,
Anita Liberty
